Antique Half Hunter Elgin Pocket Watch, 1911

Antique half hunter Elgin pocket watch.

The watch has a stem-winding movement which is working nicely and the time keeping is good to within around two minutes over 24 hours. The movement is signed Elgin and it has the serial number 16456425 which dates it back to 1911. The movement is protected by an inner hinged dust cover.

The watch measures 46mm diameter excluding the winding stem and the loop. The gold-filled case was made by the American watch case makers Keystone Watch Case Company. The case is in good condition and the Roman numerals to the front are filled with a delightful blue enamel.

The small outer lens is glass and is in good order. The larger inner lens is plastic lens and is also in good condition.

The white enamel dial is in good condition with just one short hairline crack underneath the subsidiary seconds dial. It has blued steel hands (note the special half hunter hour hand so the time can be read through the small lens), a subsidiary seconds dial and an outer minute track.
