Description

A 1920s Vertex 10ct gold filled full hunter pocket watch.

The watch has a Swiss stem-winding movement which is ticking away and the time keeping is good to within around two minutes over 24 hours. The movement is signed VW Vertex Watch Co, 15 jewels, Swiss made and it is protected by an inner hinged cover.

The watch measures 50.6 mm diameter excluding the winding crown and the loop. The case is 10 ct gold filled and is the Moon model from the English watch case maker Dennison. The case has light scratches but overall is in very acceptable condition for a 1920s piece. The inner case back has a few light surface scratches.

The lens is a later plastic replacement which has the odd faint surface mark but otherwise it is in nice condition.

The white enamel dial has a faint hairline crack between 4 & 5 o'clock but otherwise it is in nice condition.

The watch has its original blued steel hands.
