The Vintage Wrist Watch Company has dated this piece to the Victorian era.
The movement is protected by an inner hinged dust cover.

The watch measures 50mm diameter excluding the winding stem and the loop. There are Swiss silver hallmarks for 935 silver (slightly purer than standard sterling silver). The case is in good condition.

The lens is a later plastic replacement.
The watch has an enamel dial which is in lovely condition with just a short scratch between VIII and IX, not too noticeable to the naked eye. Gold coloured hands (initially set by way of the pin set mechanism), a subsidiary seconds dial and an outer minute track.
The watch comes on a late Victorian silver chain, 36cm long including the T-bar and the clasp, and it has a small silver locket fob.
All in all, a very handsome item.
