The Vintage Wrist Watch Company has dated this piece to the 1940s.
The movement is signed Longines Watch Co, Swiss and it has the serial number 7,073,902 which dates it back to 1945.

The watch measures 23.5mm wide excluding the winding crown and 27mm high excluding the lugs. In the 1940s, the fashion was for men to wear smaller watches so this particular watch is on the small side and it would best suit a gentleman with a slimmer wrist, or it could be worn by a lady. The case is 10k gold filled and is signed Apex inside the back cover; Apex was a well known manufacturer who supplied cases to a number of high end watchmakers during the 1940s and 50s. The back of the watch has a later engraving which suggests that it was handed down to someone.

The curved watch lens is a handsome feature of this watch.
The subtle two tone dial is signed Longines albeit faintly, and there is age related patination.
A new brown leather strap has been fitted.
