Scottish Oak Cased 8 Day Longcase Clock. C. 1820

Description

Early 19th century Scottish oak cased 8 day longcase clock by JOHN CHRISTIE of PERTH. Typical east coast, long door case with horn top and quarter reeded columns. Nice shaping to the top of the door and original bracket feet. The horn top with original brass patera and original eagle and ball in the centre.

The 8 day movement was made by John Christie himself thus is of better quality than normal mass produced Birmingham movements. The painted dial with a village scene to the top with conch shells in the corners. The original pendulum also painted with a conch shell.

This clock is all original.

The movement has been fully cleaned and serviced and comes with a 1 year guarentee.

SIZES; Maximum height is 87". Maximum width is 19".
