Gents Omega Wrist Watch, C1950

1940 - 1960
Description

A gents Omega wrist watch, 1950.

The watch has a hand-winding movement, calibre 265, which is ticking away and the time keeping is good to within around two minutes or so over 24 hours. The movement is signed Omega, Swiss and it has the serial number 12,173,549 which dates it back to 1950.

The watch measures 33mm diameter excluding the winding crown and the lugs. The stainless steel case was made by the English watch case maker Dennison. Overall the condition is good although there are a series of scratches to the back, probably where the back has been removed in the past. The winding crown is not Omega.

The lens is in good condition.

The dial has the applied Omega logo and a mixture of numbers and faceted markers. It is good condition with just light marking and has gold coloured dauphine shaped hour and minute hands, and a subsidiary seconds dial.

A new brown leather strap has been fitted.

With regards to appraisals / valuations, we receive a huge number of information requests each day and unfortunately do not have the manpower to deal with them all individually. Our advice would be to contact a local auctioneer for a full appraisal.
