Vintage Gents 1950s Smiths Astral Wrist Watch

1940 - 1960
Description

A vintage gents 1950s Smiths Astral wrist watch.

The watch has a hand-winding movement which is ticking away and the time keeping is good to within around two to three minutes over 24 hours. The movement is stamped 15 jewels, Made in England.

The watch measures 33mm diameter excluding the winding crown and 42.2 mm high including the lugs. The chrome plated case has light surface marks from use and light wear to the edges but otherwise it is in nice condition. The case back is stainless steel and has light rubbing from a previous strap

The lens is in nice condition.

The dial is signed Astral, 15 jewels with Made in England at the bottom. The dial has the odd faint surface mark but overall it is in nice condition for a 1950s piece.

The watch has its original hands.

A new black leather strap has been fitted.

We are an on-line only business and do not have facilities for callers. Our offices are open from Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm.

With regards to appraisals / valuations, we receive a huge number of information requests each day and unfortunately do not have the manpower to deal with them all individually. Our advice would be to contact a local auctioneer for a full appraisal.
