Victorian French Marble & Spelter Cherub Mantle Clock Garniture

Description

This is a pretty Victorian French clock garniture in full working order with an 8 day movement that has just been cleaned and serviced. The clock strikes a lovely tone on a bell on the hour and half hour. The pretty dial has hand painted floral detail and lovely brass pointers. The characterful cherub is in spelter and holds a basket of fruit. There are some rubbed areas to the spelter from handling and a couple of tiny chips to the bevelled glass face but very minor, hardly noticable. This is a very decorative and attractive garniture dating from around 1870. The clock set is entitled "Enfant des Fruites".

The clock measures 37cm long, 15cm deep and 28cm high. The urns are 22cm high.
