19th Cent Mahogany 3 Train Musical Longcase Clock

Description

A very pretty small 19th Cent musical longcase clock that chimes the quarters on a nest of eight bells and the hours on a ninth bell. The 3 train movement has a nameplate for William Stokes, London. There is a William Stokes listed working in London 1863 to 1869

The case is mahogany with some very nice marquetry inlay to the base, trunk and swan neck pediment.

The case is in good condition but has the odd minor knock and wear consistent with age and use.

The movement is in good working order and keeping good time.

The maximum dimensions are:

211cm(83") high exc finial + 8cm(3")

48cm(19") wide

25cm(10") deep
