Vintage 1930s Sphinx Lever Pocket Watch, Dumfries

1920 - 1940
Description

A vintage 1930s Sphinx Lever pocket watch.

The watch has a stem-winding movement which is ticking away and the time keeping is good to around 2 - 3 minutes over 24 hours. The movement is stamped Sphinx, Swiss made. The watch also has its original Guarantee paper in the back.

The watch measures 51.4 mm diameter excluding the winding crown and the loop. The nickel case has light surface marks to the front. The back has some indentations and unevenness which are not showing up in the photos.

The watch lens is glass and is in nice condition with only the odd minor mark.

The dial is signed J.M.Mc Lean, Dumfries, Sphinx Lever with Swiss made at the bottom. The dial is in nice condition with only the odd minor mark.

The watch has its original blued steel hands.

With regards to appraisals / valuations, we receive a huge number of information requests each day and unfortunately do not have the manpower to deal with them all individually. Our advice would be to contact a local auctioneer for a full appraisal.
