Description

FRANCIS BARRAUD: an excellent quality and attractive mid/late 18th century BRACKET CLOCK in an ebonised case by Francis Barraud of London.

The ebonised case features 4 cast brass finials; cast brass handle; ornate ormolu panels to the sides and it is raised on original brass feet with an unusual and attractive matching brass-cased plinth base.

The 8-day verge movement strikes hours and half-hours on a bell and features a finely-engraved backplate. Signed to the dial, with "Strike/Silent" in the arch; date aperture and "mock" pendulum. Dimensions: 18.5ins (47cms) high excluding the handle. Perfect working order and guaranteed for at least two years.
