Vintage 1940s Helbros Wrist Watch

Description

A 1940s wrist watch by Helbros.

The watch has a hand-winding movement, with 17 jewels, which is ticking away and the time keeping is good to within around two minutes over 24 hours. The movement is signed Helbros Watch Co.

The watch measures 30mm diameter excluding the winding crown and the lugs. In line with 1940s fashions, this watch is on the small side for a gent's watch so it would suit a man with a slimmer wrist or it could be worn by a lady. The case is plated and there is some marking and wear, although overall the condition is commensurate with its age. The snap-on case back is stainless steel; it has some scratches.

The lens is in good condition.

The dial is marked Waterproof, AntiMagnetic, Swiss. As with any vintage watch, it should not be treated as being waterproof. The dial is in good condition with just minor marks.

A new black leather strap has been fitted.

We are an on-line only business and do not have facilities for callers. Our offices are open from Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm.

With regards to appraisals / valuations, we receive a huge number of information requests each day and unfortunately do not have the manpower to deal with them all individually. Our advice would be to contact a local auctioneer for a full appraisal.
