Gents 1940s Wrist Watch

Description

A gents 1940s wrist watch.

The watch has a Swiss hand-winding movement, with 15 jewels, which is ticking away nicely and the time keeping is good to within around one to two minutes over 24 hours.

The watch measures 33mm diameter excluding the winding crown and the lugs. The case has general light surface marks but overall the condition is good for an early watch. The screw-on case back is stainless steel it states that the watch is waterproof but, as with most vintage watches, it should not be treated as such.

The lens is in good condition.

The dial is stamped Waterproof, Incabloc (which relates to the shock proofing), AntiMagnetic, Swiss Made. There are small marks to the dial but overall it has a charming vintage look. The hands have some discolouration and some of the infill has come out of the minute hand.

A new black leather strap has been fitted.

With regards to appraisals / valuations, we receive a huge number of information requests each day and unfortunately do not have the manpower to deal with them all individually. Our advice would be to contact a local auctioneer for a full appraisal.
