Description

A vintage gents 1950s Smiths Empire wrist watch.

The watch has a hand-winding movement which is ticking away nicely and the time keeping is good to within around two to three minutes over 24 hours. The movement is unsigned.

The watch measures 33 mm diameter excluding the winding crown and 41.7 mm high including the lugs. The chrome plated case has light wear to the tips of the lugs and the odd minor mark but overall it is in nice condition. The screw-on case back is stamped stainless steel back, antimagnetic, dust water shock resistant although with any vintage watch I would not rely on it being water resistant.

The lens is in good condition.

The dial is signed Smiths Empire, 5 jewels with Made in Gt Britain at the bottom. The textured dial is in nice condition.

The watch has its original blued steel hands.

A new black leather strap has been fitted.
