The Vintage Wrist Watch Company has dated this piece to the 1940s.

The watch measures 22mm wide excluding the winding crown and 32mm high excluding the lugs. The watch was originally sold as a man's watch but it is on the smaller side, in line with the fashions of the time. Today, it would suit a man with a slimmer wrist or it could be worn by a lady. The case is stainless steel and the condition is good for its age with just general light surface marks and some wear / pitting to the winding crown.

The lens has small marks but is very usable.
The dial has raised numerals, a subsidiary seconds dial and outer minute markers. The dial has darkened a little with age and has minor marking but overall is good for a 1940s piece.

The strap is a later replacement.
The watch comes in its original cardboard box which is tatty but still nice to have, and original Guarantee from The Sussex Goldsmiths and Silversmiths Company, dated 17 October 1941.
