Vintage 1940s Swiss Hand Winding Wrist Watch

Description

A vintage 1940s Swiss hand-winding wrist watch.

The watch has a hand-winding movement which is ticking away nicely and the time keeping is good to within around 2 - 3 minutes over a 24 hour period. The high grade movement is stamped fifteen 15 jewels, three 3 adjustments, Swiss made.

The watch was originally made as a gents watch although it would suit a slimmer wrist and also work as a ladies watch. The watch measures 29.4 mm diameter excluding the winding crown and 39.3 mm high including the lugs. The stainless steel case has light surface marking from use but otherwise it is in nice condition. The case back is stainless steel.

The lens is in nice condition.

The dial is stamped waterproof, shockproof with Swiss made at the bottom ( although with any vintage watch I would not rely on it being waterproof). The dial has faint surface marking but otherwise it is in nice condition. It has its original blued steel hands.

The watch has a vintage brown leather strap.

We are an on-line only business and do not have facilities for callers. Our offices are open from Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm.

With regards to appraisals / valuations, we receive a huge number of information requests each day and unfortunately do not have the manpower to deal with them all individually. Our advice would be to contact a local auctioneer for a full appraisal.
