Dent were awarded a Royal Warrant by Queen Victoria in 1841 and since then, many more from Royalty around the globe.

In a handsome mahogany case with a caddy top and carrying handle, the clock has a single fusee movement with an anchor escapement. The movement has been fully serviced and keeps excellent time. The front of the case has attractive fish-scale fretwork. The 5.5inch painted dial with Roman numerals is signed E. Dent, The Strand, London. The backplate is numbered 3975. The case is raised on solid brass ball-shaped feet. It measures 38cm high, 22cm wide and 15cm deep.
