1940s Muros Wrist Watch

1920 - 1940
Description

A 1940s Muros wrist watch.

The watch has a Swiss hand-winding movement, with 15 jewels, which is ticking away nicely and the time keeping is good to within around four minutes over 24 hours.

The watch measures 30mm diameter excluding the winding crown and the lugs. In the 1940s, the fashion was for men to wear smaller watches such as this one; with today's fashions, it would suit a man with a slimmer wrist or it could be worn by a lady. There is some marking to the case but it is acceptable for its age.

The lens is in good condition.

The dial is signed Muros, 15 Rubis, Shock Resist, Waterproof, Swiss Made. As with any vintage watch, I would not rely on it being waterproof. There are a few small marks to the dial but overall it is in an acceptable condition.

A new black leather strap has been fitted.

We are an on-line only business and do not have facilities for callers. Our offices are open from Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm.

With regards to appraisals / valuations, we receive a huge number of information requests each day and unfortunately do not have the manpower to deal with them all individually. Our advice would be to contact a local auctioneer for a full appraisal.
