Gents Vintage 1950s Lord Hand Winding Wrist Watch

1940 - 1960
Description

A vintage 1950s gents Lord wrist watch.

The watch has a Swiss 17-jewel hand-winding movement which is ticking away nicely and the time keeping is good to within around 2 - 3 minutes over a 24 hour period and the date changes as it should. The movement is a Venus calibre number 227 and is stamped 17 jewels, Swiss.

The watch measures 34.7 mm diameter excluding the winding crown and 43.3 mm high including the lugs. The chrome plated case is in nice condition with only the odd minor mark. The case back is stamped stainless steel back, Swiss made, shockprotected, antimagnetic and waterproof although with any vintage watch, I would not rely on it being waterproof.

The lens is in nice condition.

The dial is signed Lord, Monorex, 17 jewels with Swiss made at the bottom. The dial is in nice condition.

The watch has its original hands.

The watch has a new black leather strap.

We are an on-line only business and do not have facilities for callers. Our offices are open from Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm.

With regards to appraisals / valuations, we receive a huge number of information requests each day and unfortunately do not have the manpower to deal with them all individually. Our advice would be to contact a local auctioneer for a full appraisal.
