Gents 1960 Omega Hand-winding Wrist Watch

Description

A gents 1960 Omega wrist watch.

The watch has a hand-winding movement which is ticking away nicely and the time keeping is good to within around 2 - 3 minutes over 24 hours. The movement is signed Omega, Swiss seventeen 17 jewels with the calibre number 285 and it has the serial number 17084227 which dates it back to 1960.

The watch measures 33 mm diameter excluding the winding crown and 40.5 mm high including the lugs. The gold plated case has some wear to the edges and tips of the lugs although it has a good vintage look. The inside of the case back has the Omega triangular stamp, together with the case number 14714-1 SC. The winding crown is later.

The lens is in nice condition.

The dial is signed Omega with Swiss made at the bottom. The dial is in its original finish and has faint speckling and a small surface scratch to the centre although not over noticeable.

The watch has its original hands.

A new black leather strap has been fitted.

We are an on-line only business and do not have facilities for callers. Our offices are open from Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm.

With regards to appraisals / valuations, we receive a huge number of information requests each day and unfortunately do not have the manpower to deal with them all individually. Our advice would be to contact a local auctioneer for a full appraisal.
