Unusual 1950s Smiths De Luxe Wrist Watch

1940 - 1960
Description

A 1950s gents Smiths De Luxe wrist watch; an unusual variation in a square case.

The watch has a hand-winding movement, with 17 jewels, which is ticking away nicely and the time keeping is good to within around two minutes over 24 hours. The movement is stamped 'Made in England'.

The watch measures 26mm wide excluding the winding crown and 26mm high excluding the lugs. The gold plated case is in good condition with just light surface marks.

The lens has some marks but is acceptable.

The two tone dial is signed Smiths De Luxe, 17 Jewels, Made in England. The black centre is surrounded by red minute markers. Original dagger shaped hands and centre seconds hand with red pointer end. There is some marking to the dial although not too noticeable to the naked eye.

A new black leather strap has been fitted.

We are an on-line only business and do not have facilities for callers. Our offices are open from Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm.

With regards to appraisals / valuations, we receive a huge number of information requests each day and unfortunately do not have the manpower to deal with them all individually. Our advice would be to contact a local auctioneer for a full appraisal.
