1930s West End Watch Co Sowar Prima Wrist Watch

1920 - 1940
Description

A 1930s West End Watch Company Sowar Prima wrist watch.

The watch has a good quality hand-winding movement, signed with the West End Watch Company logo, which is ticking away nicely and the time keeping is good to within around two minutes over 24 hours. The movement is protected by an inner cover.

The watch measures 28mm wide excluding the winding crown and 28mm high excluding the lugs - it was originally designed as a man's watch but, with today's fashions, it would suit a slim wrist or it could be worn by a lady. The case is in good condition and the case back has the West End Watch Co logo.

The lens has light marks but is very acceptable.

The dial is signed West End Watch Co, Sowar, Prima, Swiss Made. There is some age related darkening but overall the face has a good vintage look with blued steel hands, a subsidiary seconds dial and an outer minute track.

A new black leather strap has been fitted.

We are an on-line only business and do not have facilities for callers. Our offices are open from Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm.

With regards to appraisals / valuations, we receive a huge number of information requests each day and unfortunately do not have the manpower to deal with them all individually. Our advice would be to contact a local auctioneer for a full appraisal.
