Cross Antiques has dated this piece to the 1750s.
The posted 30hr single handed movement is by William Gatford of Uxbridge, Middlesex. He is listed in Looms as working there until 1774.

The case is very unusual and appears to be contemporary with the movement. It does not have an opening door and requires the hood to be removed for adjustment. The trunk door is attached with iron hinges that are fixed with old hand made nails.

The clock is complete and running but could do with a good service.
