1926 Gents Silver Art Deco Wrist Watch

A charming gents 1920s silver Art Deco wrist watch.

The watch has a Swiss hand-winding movement which is ticking away nicely and the time keeping is good.

The watch is a good size for a genuine Art Deco piece at 25mm wide excluding the winding crown and 31mm high excluding the lugs. The case is silver and there are hallmarks on the back of the watch for London 1926. There is a little unevenness to the hinged case back and general light marks but overall the condition is pleasing for a 1920s piece.

The convex watch glass has a 2mm scratch, other light marks and a chip in the top right hand corner but is acceptable.

The dial has a good Art Deco look with raised square numbers, a square subsidiary seconds dial and attractive blued steel hands. There is some age related discolouration but overall it has lots of handsome vintage appeal.

A later brown leather strap has been fitted; it sets the watch of very nicely.

The watch comes in a vintage presentation box from London jeweller William Hawkes.
