1920s Full Hunter Pocket Watch, Brockville

A 1920s full hunter pocket watch.

The watch has a Swiss stem-winding 'Satisfaction' movement by L Tieche Gammeter, who were based in Soluthern in Switzerland. It is ticking away nicely and the time keeping is good to within around two minutes over 24 hours.

The watch measures 50mm diameter excluding the winding stem and the loop. The case is the gold filled Empress model by the American Watch Case Company who were based in Ontario, Canada. This suggest that the Swiss movements were exported to Canada where they were finished and cased for retail. The case has an attractive monogram to the front. The case is in good condition for its age with just some gentle unevenness to the case back and general light surface marks commensurate with its age.

The plastic lens is in good condition.

The dial is in nice condition with just some discolouration to the subsidiary seconds dial. It is signed Brockville H, Swiss Made - Brockville is a city in Eastern Ontario so this may explain the name. Blued steel hands.
