Cross Antiques has dated this piece to the 1800s.
The case is in oak with mahogany cross banding. It has retained its original finish and is a lovely colour. The hood has bold reeded columns beautiful gilt Corinthian capitals that are repeated on the trunk.
The good quality 8 day movement strikes the hours on a bell. It has an extremely decorative dial with a subsidiary seconds dial and working date window.
The case and movement are in excellent condition. It is running well and keeping good time.
