Impressive Thwaites & Reed Musical Bracket Clock

19th century
Description

A superb and impressive brass inlaid rosewood bracket clock by Thwaites & Reed. Thwaites and Reed were originally established in London in 1740 and still exist today. They manufactured movements for many famous clock makers of the 18th & 19th Cent. This clock dates from around 1830 and has a fine triple fusee movement chiming the quarters on a nest of 8 bells. It also strikes the hours on a 9th bell.
