Late 18th Cent Mahogany Moon Dial Longcase Clock

Description

A handsome longcase clock by James Monkhouse of Carlisle. He is listed as working there from 1793. It has a very good quality mahogany veneered case decorated with various exotic woods.

The good quality 8 day movement strikes the hours on a bell and has a particularly attractive painted dial displaying the phases of the moon to the arch.

The case is in good condition and the movement is nice and clean, in full working order and keeping good time.

The maximum dimensions are:

234cm(92") high

57cm(22.5") wide

28cm(11") deep
