Quiet Street Antiques of Bath has dated this piece to the 1800s.
To the sides are glazed panels, also edged in brass, and it stands on its four original and substantial cast brass feet.

The eight-day movement retains its original verge escapement, striking hours on a bell with engraved backplate and 'bob' pendulum, whilst the dial is of particularly good quality enamel with both Roman and Arabic numerals. It repeats hours at will by means of the pull-cord. The ornate hands are original including the third hand, which automatically indicates the date. A lovely clock, measuring 15ins high (39cms) excluding handle.
