1930s Gruen Guild Gents Wrist Watch

A gents vintage Gruen Guild wrist watch, dating back to between 1929 and 1937.

The watch has a hand-winding movement, signed Gruen Guild, 15 Jewels, 3 Adjustments, Switzerland together with the serial number 190111. It is ticking away nicely and the time keeping is good to within around two minutes over 24 hours.

The watch measures 27mm wide excluding the winding crown and 34mm high including the lugs. Although originally designed to be worn by a man, it would suit a slimmer wrist or it could be worn by a lady. The watch has a nickel case with a rolled plate back; there is the odd mark and a little wear in places but overall the condition is very acceptable.

The lens has minor marking.

The dial has a great Art Deco look with the raised Gruen name and numbers, subsidiary dial and outer minute markers. There is some marking to the dial but it is still very easy to tell the time.

A new black leather strap has been fitted.
