An antique Labrador pocket watch, by Omega.
The watch has a stem-winding movement which is ticking away nicely and the time keeping is good. The movement is signed Labrador Reg Mark. Labrador was amongst the first series-produced calibres from the Brandt family who went on to form Omega. This particular movement is ticking away nicely and the time keeping is good. The Omega serial number, 16651188, is underneath the dial and this dates the watch back to around 1900. There is also a Swiss brevet or patent number of 8760 which relates to the stem setting mechanism with clutch wheel and rocker bar, which prevents moving of hands when switching to winding position (filed 08-01-1894 by Louis Brandt & Frčre, CH).
The watch measures 50mm diameter excluding the winding crown and the loop. The case is a gold filled model by New York based watch case maker Joseph Fahys & Co. There is some rubbing to the plate and engine turned detail, and some unevenness to the case back. The finish has worn off the winding crown.
The plastic watch lens is in good condition.
The dial is in lovely condition. The hour and minute hands are slightly different colours which suggests at least one is a later replacement. There is a subsidiary seconds dial and an outer minute track.
