Regency Mahogany Drop Dial Wall Clock

Description

A nicely proportioned wall clock, that has a convex curved base box. The outer mahogany rim has a cast brass bezel, and a the base box has curl figured veneers,and a base door for the pendulum regulation. It has a white enamel dial signed by the maker John Thwaites of Clerkenwell, London. It has an 8 day fusee movement with an anchor escapement. This movement, although signed by John Thwaites on the face plate appears to be from a slightly earlier date that than the clock itself, although the dial feet etc align perfectly. (London, c. 1830)

Current Condition

The case retains its original finish, the dial has been restored, the movement has been serviced in our own workshops and is guaranteed for 12 months.
