Quiet Street Antiques of Bath has dated this piece to the 1860s.
The 8-day movement, with platform lever escapement, strikes hours and half-hours on a gong, whilst the convex enamel dial, with its colourful garlands, is in fine condition, as are the pierced and gilded original hands.
Guaranteed for at least two years. Signed on the backplate with the stamp of Vincenti, Paris, "Gold Medal 1855" c.1865
