A Fine French Ormolu Mantel Clock

Description

An excellent quality mid-19th century French ormolu MANTEL CLOCK in full working order.

The case is of the highest quality, with two playful cherubs, representing produce of the land (one with sickle, the other with wine goblet) above the ornate case featuring leaves and scrolls and which is set with blue "Sevres" panels to the base.

The movement is of eight-day duration, striking hours and half-hours on a bell, and retains its original white enamel dial in perfect condition and the original blued steel Breguet "moon" hands. 14ins (35.5cms) high.
