Georgian Antiques has dated this piece to the 1930s.
There is a further brass bezel on the top for the chimes and there are open fretwork hands. The side has very stylish open fretwork soundboard with fabric behind it. Below the hood is a small section with blind fretwork on the front. The door repeats the pattern of the face with parquetry and there is an unusual carved shell in the centre. This pattern is repeated again on the bottom section. There is a simple beading around the base and the clock stands on four squat feet. It is unusual to get parquetry pattern on a clock of this size. Serviced, working and guaranteed.
