Masons Antiques has dated this piece to the 1800s.
The painted, arched dial with roses to the corners and an urn with bayleaf garlands to the lunnet. It has black Roman numerals and is signed "MITCHELL & RUFFEL - GLASGOW". It has subsiduary seconds and date dials.

The 8 day movement strikes on a bell on the hours. It has just been fully serviced by our BHI registered engineers
It has a lovely deep, rich patina. The base terminates in a narrow plinth over 4 bun feet and is in totally original condition.

Mitchell& Ruffel (Russel) are recorded as working in Glasgow between 1803-1841.
