Scottish Drumhead 8 Day Grandfather Clock

Description

a fine example of a scottish drumhead longcase clock by known edinburgh clockmaker james whitelaw.

the circular brass dial with roman numerals, subsidiary seconds dial and etched decorative details.

the case in lovely figured mahogany has scroll detail to the sides of the drumhead, rectangular flame mahogany door flanked by half columns, panelled base, standing on bracket feet.

the eight day movement, in full working order, strikes the hour on a bell.

this lovely scottish clock is not done justice by the quality of the photographs, it really is a very handsome piece of neat proportions in good condition.
