Fine Geo III Mahogany Longcase Clock

Description

A fine Geo III mahogany longcase clock by Nathaniel Parkinson of Whitehaven, Westmoreland. He worked there from 1813-1815.

The case is of exellent quality and is veneered in beautiful figured mahogany. The trunk has free standing fluted columns and the hood has matching double columns.

The 8 day movement strikes the hours on a bell. It has a most attractive painted dial with representations of the continents in the corners and in the arch it displays the phases of the moon.

The case is in excellent condition and the movement has all functions in good working order and it is keeping good time.

The maximum dimensions are:

229cm(90") high

58cm(23") wide

27cm(10.5") deep
