Description

We are delighted to be able to offer to the market this quite superb original ships marine chronometer made we believe in 1872 by Nugent Wells of Newport Mon , complete in its original three part brass bound mahogany box with locking mechanism and keys.

This fine and rare timepiece comes with a letter from the National Maritime Museum stating that it was rated in 1872 at the Royal Observatory .

We have not opened the movement or tested the clock because it is not our specialist field ,although all appears fine we will leave that to the experts, we have decided to advertise at a much reduced price to allow for specialist cleaning and setting up .
