Early 19th Cent 3 Train Musical Bracket Clock

Description

A very smart mahogany bracket clock by Handley & Moore of Clerkenwell, London. They worked there from 1801 to 1820. It was previously the property of Lady Clifton and is signed on the back plate to this effect.

It has a 3 train fusee movement chiming the quarters on a nest of 8 bells and the hours on a further bell. It has an attractive painted dial and the all important strike / silent selector.

The case is in nicely figured mahogany with gilt metal mounts and fish scale sound frets to the sides.

The case is in excellent condition. The movement is also in good condition and keeping good time.

The maximum dimensions are:

46cm(18") high

33cm(13") wide

21.5cm(8.5") deep
