18th Cent 8 Day Oak Longcase Clock

Description

A very pretty little 18th cent Longcase Clock. The case is in nicely figured oak with mahogany cross banding. The dial is signed by Arthur Mitchell of Dorchester, Dorset.

The case is in good un-restored condition and a lovely colour.

The possibly associated 8 day movement strikes the hours on a bell. It has an attractive brass dial with a silvered chapter ring, cast brass spandrels and a date aperture (date not working) The movement is running OK and keeping good time but could do with a clean some time in the future.

The maximum dimensions are:

201cm(79") high

53cm(21") wide

29cm(11.5") deep
