French Striking and Repeating Carriage Clock

Description

A brass cased carriage clock with an attractive dial. It has a corniche case with an oval bevel edge glass top window and hour repeat button. The white enamel dial has a brass dial mask and five minute markers. The 8 day movement has its original lever platform and the backplate is stamped Made in France , also JWB for the original retail JW Benson of Ludgate Hill London 30037.The gong is stamped A.D. (Maker A. Dumas) (France, c. 1890)
