18th Cent Mahogany Longcase Clock

Description

A very elegant mahogany longcase clock by Andrew Scott of Edinburgh. An Andrew Scott was an apprentice in Edinburgh in 1764 and I would think this clock dates from around 1790. It has a lovely slim case veneered in nicely figured mahogany.

The 8 day movement strikes the hours on a bell and has a beautifuly engraved brass dial. It also has the all important strike/silent selector and a working date indicator.

The case is in excelent condition and a lovely colour. The movement is nice and clean, in good working order and keeping good time.

The maximum dimensions are:

216cm(85") high

51cm(20") wide

27cm(10.5") deep
