18th Cent Oak Longcase Clock, Dickman Leith

19th century
Description

A handsome oak longcase clock by Jonathan Dickman of Leith, Scotland, C1790. It has a very well proportioned oak case with a swan neck pediment to the hood and fluted quarter columns to the trunk.

The 8 day movement strikes the hours on a bell and has an attractive engraved brass dial. It has a subsidiary seconds dial and date window. To the arch is an armorial, presumably of the original owner.

The case is in good un-restored condition and has retained its original finish. The movement is n good working order and keeping good time.

The maximum dimensions are:

212cm(83.5") high (excluding finial + 7cm)

50cm(19.5") wide

25cm(10") deep
