18th Cent Oak & Mahogany Longcase Clock

Description

A Handsome 18th Cent oak & mahogany 8 day longcase clock, dial signed T Gate of Carlisle. He is listed as working there from 1770 to 1800.

The possibly associated 8 day movement strikes the hours on a bell. The brass dial has gilt spandrels and silvered chapter ring. To the arch is a moon phase indicator.

The case is in good un-restored condition and the movement is in good working order and keeping good time.

The maximum dimensions are:

223cm(88") high

54cm(21") wide

24cm(9.5") deep
