19th Cent French Comtoise Wall Clock

Description

A very smart 19th Cent Comtoise or Morbier clock. It is by Jules Boyer of Castlnaudary. It has a pressed brass surround with peacocks and fruit.

The smart white enameled dial is signed by the maker. The substantial 8 day movement strikes the hour and half hours on a bell. Morbier clocks are unusual in that they strike the hours on the hour and again two minutes past the hour. It is complete with weights and decorative pendulum.

The maximum dimensions including pendulum are:

150cm(59") high

36cm(14") wide

18cm(7") deep
