Oak & Mahogany Moon Dial Longcase Clock

19th century
Description

A handsome early 19th Cent oak and mahogany longcase clock by Thomas Taylor of Ellesmere, Shropshire. He is listed as working there from 1792 - 1835.

The case is in oak with extensive figured mahogany veneer.

The 8 day movement strikes the hours on a bell and has a most attractive painted dial showing the phases of the moon.

The movement has recently been serviced and is in good working order with all functions operating as they should. The case is in good un-restored condition but does have the odd veneer chip and small piece of molding missing.

Maximum dimensions:

214cm(84") high

57cm(22.5") wide

26cm(10") deep
