19th Cent Mahogany Fusee Bracket Clock

19th century
Description

A handsome bracket clock dating from the early 19th Cent. It is by the London maker John Michelson who is listed as working there in the early 19th Cent.

The case is in nicely figured mahogany with smart brass moldings and brass fish scale side frets. It stands on its original adjustable brass ball feet.

The numbered twin fusee movement strikes the hours on a bell and has unusual round plates. The movement back plate is engraved with the maker's name.

The case is in good condition and all the brass work is there. The movement is in good working order and keeping good time. The bell and pendulum may be replacements but it all works as it should.

Maximum dimensions are:

44cm(17.25") high

29cm(11.25") wide

6.5cm(6.5") deep
