Red Tortoiseshell Boulle Work Mantel Clock

Description

A French Boulle work waisted mantel clock in Louis XVIth Style. The ornate case is veneered with tortoiseshell and inlaid with brass. It has ornate applied brass castings in the form of acanthus leaves . It has a pendulum window below the dial, which has blue numerals and is signed by the original retailer Hatton, Paris .The 8 day movement strikes the hours and halves on a bell and is stamped by the Maker Japy Frere. (France, c. 1870)

Current Condition

The case is in excellant original condition, having been revived and lacquered to avoid tarnishing, the moveemnt has been serviced in our own workshops and is guaranteed for 12 months.
