Masons Antiques has dated this piece to the Victorian era.
It has an 8 day, fusee movement and a silvered dial with black Roman numerals.
The scrolled plates are quality hand cut thick brass. All brasswork has been thoroughly cleaned and then lacquered to prevent further tarnishing. All screwheads have been polished and lacquered. It is a gem, both to look at and hear.
The clock stands on a white marble base over an ebonised wooden plinth.
Importantly, the glass dome is original to the clock, as are all parts.
